The Seventh-day Adventist Church has a special mission to preach the good news of salvation to every nation; kindred; tongue; and people (Revelation 14:6). In reaching people from various backgrounds; we are reminded that “lessons must be given in the language of humanity” (The Desire of Ages; p. 34). For this reason; the General Conference Sabbath School and Personal Ministries Department has initiated the Reaching & Winning series of courses on world religions. Who are the Anglicans? How did their system of worship come to be established? How open are they to alternative ways of looking at religion? In particular; how can Seventh-day Adventists share their convictions with the Anglican community? These are some of the issues discussed in this book. This course is designed to be taught in seven classes. Each class is planned to be between one and a half and two hours in length; including small group sessions. It may also be studied personally. Reaching & Winning Anglicans includes: Who are Anglicans? The Anglican Church Today The 39 Articles of the Anglican Church An Exploration of Doctrinal Differences Helping Anglicans on the Sabbath Issue Presenting Bible Prophecies to Anglicans Sequence of Topics and Getting Decisions This book will help Seventh-day Adventists appreciate more fully the solid contribution of Anglicans in past centuries to the upholding of biblical truth; sometimes in the face of antagonism and hostility. At the same time; readers will recognize that Adventists; like Anglicans; are pilgrims on the pathway of truth; and the God’s steadfast love is broad enough to encompass us all as we see His guidance for our lives; along with a fuller knowledge of His will as revealed in Scripture.
